why we're here

Started in 2000, Emmanuel exists to:  Exalt Christ, Encourage each other, & Engage the world.

We would love to meet you at one of our services. Here at Emmanuel, we make it our aim that you would feel loved and encouraged by your time with us. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

OUR BELIEFS

Southern Baptists have prepared a statement of generally held convictions called The Baptist Faith and Message. It serves as a guide to understanding who we are. Copies are available at Emmanuel. The topics here provide only a brief, partial summary.

The Scriptures

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter.

God

There is one and only one living and true God. The eternal God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

Man

Man was created by the special act of God, in His own image, and is the crowning work of His creation. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race.  Every man possesses dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.

Salvation

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, sanctification, and glorification.

God's Purpose of Grace

Election is the gracious purpose of God, according to which He regenerates, sanctifies, and glorifies sinners.  Those whom God has accepted in Christ, and sanctified by His Spirit will never fall away from the state of grace, but shall persevere to the end.

The Church

A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a local body of baptized believers who are associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel…and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth. This church is an autonomous body. The New Testament speaks also of the church as the body of Christ, which includes all of the redeemed of all the ages.

Baptism & the Lord's Supper

Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior.

The Lord's Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming.

Evangelism & Missions

It is the duty and privilege of every follower of Christ and every church of the Lord Jesus Christ to endeavor to make disciples of all nations.

Family

God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. Marriage is the unity of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime.

F.A.Q.

What are your services like?

Our Sunday morning service uses a blend of modern praise music and time-honored hymns using a praise band and a praise team. The music is upbeat and uplifting using a full-range of musical instruments such as keyboards, drums, guitars and more. The services are designed to honor God and engage people. The atmosphere is comfortable and the people are very friendly. The preaching is passionate and practical, seeking to explain the eternal truths of God's Word and apply them to your everyday life.

What should I wear?

We're relaxed. Come in jeans or khakis; or if you prefer, come in a sport coat or dress. You'll find a variety of styles here. We're far more interested in your heart than your attire.

What about my children?

We have excellent ministries for children of all ages. You'll find warm, friendly greeters to assist you in finding the right class for your children. All of our children's workers are trained and screened to insure your child the safest, most enjoyable experience possible. We have Sunday School classes for all ages at 9:00 AM. We provide childcare during the Worship service.

What about my teenager?

Your 7th - 12th grade students will love it at Emmanuel because our Student Ministry is high energy and high impact. We strive to help your teens develop Christ-like character, a Biblical worldview and a passion for serving the needs of others and sharing the Gospel locally and around the world. Our students meet for Sunday School in the Youth Room.

Where should I park?

We have specially marked spaces for guests on the front end of the building - which is the east side of the church. There is handicapped parking throughout.

Do you pressure people to give?

Never - we care far more about you than your money. However, we do take up an offering each week because we rely on our member's financial support to cover all the operating expenses of all of our ministries, missions and programs.

Where do I get started?

Most people start out visiting a Sunday Morning Worship Service (10:00 AM). To really get to know people, we hope that you'll take the next step by visiting one of our Sunday morning Bible Study groups (Sunday School) at 9:00 AM. That's best place to develop relationships with our people and to get plugged in at Emmanuel.
